On Sunday, I went and saw Glory Road with my roomate Ben, and I have to say that it was a decent film. It reminded me a lot of Remember the Titans, another Disney Pictures Production, but this one wasn’t as great. I have to say that much of this film was tring to be comical at times that it didn’t need be. I also think that a lot of these ‘Based on a true story’ films are adding to much to the true story. It becomes over sensationalized in a way.
I wish they could have stuck more to the real story of Texas Western University, I have done a little research and it tells a contrasting story on some of the more major plot points. I give this one a 6.5 out of 10: The writer and director of this film are unknown and did an excellent job of making a complete movie that made sense. They also gave me a real sense for what it was like to live in the 1960s. Overall, this is your typical Disney ‘deep meaning’ film. If you liked Remember the Titans, you will like Glory Road.
