SOOOOO…. what can I say but Apple is offically in Omaha and it’s the greatest thing in the world. I am so happy that the Apple store is offically here and it’s almost hard to believe that we have one so close. I can remember the day like yesterday… but really it was a week and 3 days ago…
I was camping outside of the store waiting for it to open. There was about 10-12 of us initially and it grew to about 20 at about 4:00 A.M. By 8:30 there were at least 150 people in line and by 9:35ish (the store opened at 10:00) the line hooked around Village Pointe and almost reached the parking lot. At last count, there were 300 people in line waiting for it to open. My brother and I were numbers 4 and 5. Eleven hours of waiting outside truly paid off and the moment we got to go in, I was still in shock. I thought it was a dream, but it really wasn’t It was such a great morning. So far I have manged to go on 4 more occations, and I can say without a doubt it’s just simply an amazing store. I can’t wait to see what happens to the culture of computers now that we have an Apple Store. September 23rd, 2006; this is an unforgetable day in Omaha history.
