Welcome to my blog... the home of complete ordered chaos.

Hitchhiker's
Watched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy yesterday and I have to say that I liked the movie. It was very funny at times... I found myself laughing out loud, by myself at times. I can definately see a lot of people liking this movie because The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book attracts many different types of people. I have never read the book, however, I liked the film so much that I might have to borrow my brother's copy. I give it an 8 out of 10. Very nice Sci-fi film to hold me over til ROTS.

Sahara
Monday I went and saw Sahara with my roomate, and I have to say this: It was not what I expected. I was a little disapointed. I thought it would be more of a treasure hunt type movie (Indiana Jones style movie) BUT NO. I can't really classify this movie myself. IMDB says that this is an action adventure comedy movie and that's just not good enough. There is a little mystery in it as well... oh and there is treasure invovled, so there you have it. Things I liked #1: Lambert Wilson, the French guy from the Matrix movies, is in this movie and makes an excellent villian. #2: Penelope Cruz... enough said :) #3: They had some pretty sweet computers... MACS and I think one of them had a 15' PowerBook (my computer is on a movie ya'll). Other than that this movie didn't excite me like others and the ending was SOOO predictable. Bottom line: 5 out of 10 - Average movie, not nearly as good as National Treasure as far as treasure hunting goes and doesn't stack up to other action movies.

Robots
Went and saw Robots on Saturday with my roomate and my brother. I was suprised that this movie was a LucasFilm. I was not surprised to see the Star Wars trailer, because that was the reason I had to see this movie. After seeing the trailer on the big screen, the website version is just not as exciting. Now as far as Robots is concerned, I give it an 8 out of 10. Good CG, but not anywhere close to the Incredibles which comes out on DVD tomorrow (Wal-Mart, here I come).

New Episode III Trailer
The new Episode III trailer is out and thanks to my brother (thank you Marcus) I have gotten the chance to see it. Two words: Oh My. I cannot wait for this movie. I will probably have to watch this about 5 or 6 times today before I can walk away satisfied. May 19th is getting closer and closer.

Hitch
My brothers and I went and saw Hitch on Friday night and I have to say it was better than I thought it would be. From the previews I thought it would be your typical romantic comedy with some sappy love song ending, and I was proven wrong. Will Smith has been in a lot of different types of movies, which is rare in Hollywood. From action to drama to sci-fi to animated, now romantic comedy. Unbelievable. I give this movie a 7 out of 10 because of Will Smith's great acting ability. It made for a good movie... But of course "I, Robot" is tons better than this :)

Coach Carter
Well I went and seen Coach Carter this weekend, and I have to say I was a little surprised. MTV films has gotten better over the years and this one was decent. There were some questionable scenes which pushed the PG-13 rating to the limit. In my opinion if they had been taken out, it would have made the film better. This film reminded me of Friday Night Lights, which was another film that came out in the last year, but this one had a deeper plot and a better message. I am going to give this one a 6 out of 10: good but could be better.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
I saw A Series of Unfortunate Events this weekend and I have to say I liked it. This movie is a typical "fun for the whole family" type of movie. Jim Carrey did a great job with his role (or should I say roles) in the movie and it is just as good if not better than How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I will have to give this movie a 7 out of 10. Go see it if you like to watch movies (like me).

Ocean's Twelve
I went and saw Ocean's Twelve two days ago and my initial reaction was it's okay, but not better than the first one. That feeling still applies now. I thought the film was very different than the first one. I will definately have to see it a second time now that I know what was going on but I really thought that the filming of this film was off. I didn't like some of the camera angles they used in the movie, and parts of it just seemed like I was watching a movie made in the 80's. Anyway, it gets a 5 out of 10 because a lot of the same stuff went on in this movie. I thought Julia Roberts part in this movie was just dumb and it was just a typical sequal to an awesome movie: the sequal is never as good as the first (sort of like the Matrix).

Christmas with the Kranks
I am really slow about blogging these days... anyway I saw Christmas with the Kranks this week and I have to say it was pretty good. I like Tim Allen and it has been a while since I seen a decent film with him in it. I also liked Dan Aykroyd, he was very funny in this film. I can remember the days of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. I thought that was some of his best work. Anyway, I give this film a 6 out of 10 because it was your average Christmas comedy with a good twist in there at the end.

Polar Express
I also saw Polar Express with Tom Hanks and I thought it was also a good Christmas film as well... BUT here's my beef with it. I thought it really tried to kill the magic behind Christmas, without really telling what Christmas is about. I thought it touched a fine line and well... in the end it was okay. It gets a 7 out of 10 because it had great music and the CG was incredible. I thought they really did some good motion capture and modeling work as well. However, it was nowhere close to Pixar and the Incredibles.
